Former Syracuse University Captain Liam Callahan Joins Syracuse FC for 2018 Season

Tuesday, April 20, 2018 :  Syracuse FC announced today that Liam Callahan has joined the club for the 2018 season.

The 5’9” midfielder played at Syracuse University for three seasons from 2014 to 2016. He started in 59 games for the Orange and tallied three goals and 12 assists. The Amherst, New York native started his college career at Villanova University where he started in 18 matches before transferring to Syracuse.

Callahan was selected by the Colorado Rapids in the second round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. He then joined the Syracuse Silver Knights in the MASL for the 2017-18 season. Callahan played in all 24 games that season and tallied five goals and two assists. At the end of the season, he was named as an all-MASL rookie honorable mention. 

Additional player signings will be announced throughout the coming weeks as SFC continues to develop its 2018 roster in preparation for the home opener match vs Erie Commodores on Saturday, May 19th, at OCC’s Lazer Stadium.
